3D scanning technology development trend

2019-06-01

The three-dimensional scanning technology is mainly based on non-contact laser, photography, white light, etc. It can have high measurement accuracy and is suitable for relative size measurement and quality management; optical scanning speed is fast, accuracy is appropriate, and scanning can be performed. The item gets a lot of point cloud data to facilitate surface reconstruction. After scanning, the data is read on the computer. Usually this part is called reverse engineering pre-processing.

After obtaining the data data of the product, the data processing is performed by reverse engineering software. After the comparison of the classification, the group segmentation, the point line surface and the physical error, the surface model is reconstructed and the CAD data is generated, and then the RP Part can be produced. To confirm the mechanical and geometric appearance, or NC machining and mold manufacturing, these are part of the post-processing.

Since the generation of 3D scanning technology, many scanning principles have been developed. From the perspective of three-dimensional data acquisition methods, the non-contact method has the widest application in reverse engineering because of its speed and accuracy. The triangle method can be divided into two different ways: point light source and line light source according to different light sources. The data organization method of different methods is different. The method based on contact-based continuous scanning measurement has been partially applied due to its high precision, but the speed and price index is worse than the non-contact type

In the field of ergonomics, virtual reality, and garment CAD, the digital three-dimensional scanner has the advantage of being the leader in the same type of machine at home and abroad, digitizing the human body structure, and automatically realizes the point cloud by instantaneously shooting the human body at multiple angles. Data stitching automatically generates digital images and point cloud data. With the further development of research and development, various new 3D scanner technologies will continue to emerge and be applied to commercial systems, and existing 3D scanner technology will continue to be perfected to meet the needs of manufacturing production.
